Mac, Boot Camp and Windows

As some of you may know, I’m what some would call a “Mac guy”. I have and use Macs, a big proponent of Mac OS X since day one, I love that Apple combined a desktop OS and a Unix backend with such a beautiful interface, even wrote about it 4 years ago. The same sentiment remains.
So Apple released a new bit of software called Boot Camp which allows you to boot Windows XP on your Intel Macs. Fortunately enough, I got a new MacBook Pro recently so I have an Intel Mac. So now I’m being asked if I’ll boot Windows on it.
Here’s my answers:
- I don’t have windows
- I dont have any windows software
- I have no need to run windows
- I don’t like windows
- I bought a mac
- I like mac os x
- I have mac os x software
- I like unix
- I have unix software
- I am a more productive developer on Mac OS X + Unix + Open Source tools. It is an enviornment exactly how I want to work. I have all the creative tools I need and want. I’ve been using this for over 5 years now. Why would I possibly ever consider running Windows?
As far as what I think about Apple releasing Boot Camp, I’m a little surprised by it. I’m a little concerned that third-party vendors may not release software on OS X since the same machines can boot Windows. But for now, I can still do everything I want, I have all the software I need. So I’ll just keep on keeping on.
