Hey, I figured it out.
In System Preferences, under Keyboard there is a new selection window at the very top.
It asks which keyboard do you want to make the change to.
When I selected “Wireless Keyboard” and then followed your procedure, it worked just fine.

I learned something new today !!!

I just installed a wireless Apple keyboard on my MacBook.
Your instructions worked great for my desktop iMac
But did not work for the MacBook 13 inch laptop.

The caps lock key still illuminates AND still types CAPITAL letters.

Wjat is the problem ?? HELP

There’s a free Mac utility called CapSee that notifies you when you bump your caps lock key to help prevent accidental caps locks. You can download it free at threemagination.com/capsee or on Apple’s downloads page. I never wanted to completely disable the key, but I hate how I always accidentally enable it all the time!

Thank you! I’ve always wondered why Caps Lock doesn’t have to be enabled by turning three keys (the President has one, Chief of Staff the other, and the third is destroyed) simultaneously, the entering a 3235-digit code, then…. givl, I hate that key ;-)

Ahhh, relief! I had it turned off on my old Powerbook Titanium, but couldn’t remember how to turn it off on the new MacBookPro!

FYI – on the MBP, the light does not come on, not that I care as long as the damn thing doesn’t have me yelling at people!
