Dizzy from all the Spinning

Date: Oct 12, 2004

I find it sad that we need the following unbiased sites (see links below) to help explain the information around the debates, elections and general political rhetoric, now commonly referred to and accepted as spin.

Shouldn’t we demand more from the “respectable” media sources such as CNN, ABC, CBS, not to mention demanding more out of our Presidential candidates, but that may be asking too much. Shouldn’t the media provide the public with accurate information instead of simply regurgitating what the candidates say as truth. That might require some research into what they say and digging into the issues, but I think that’s why they call it journalism.

Instead, most television news sources compound the problem by bringing out their own political pundits who argue and shout back and forth parroting and expanding on the candidates spun views. You have your Bush guy who repeats and always supports Bush, and your Kerry guy who repeats and always supports Kerry. Do any even think about what was really said?
