My Reason Why the Music Industry Sucks
Well, this has been touched on numerous times by numerous people, but here’s one of my reasons why the music industry sucks. I just burned my 23 classical music CDs down to 2 MP3 CDs.
I had several collections of classical music, such as Classic Movie Music, Greatest Melodies, etc… so I had some duplicates amongst my disks. The fact remains that I was able to combine 154 songs, about 15 hours, onto two disks!
Why is there no innovation in the industry? Why are disks relatively the exact same capacity as they were when released 20 years ago? The shelf space I just saved is rather significant, assuming I can sell this stack of CDs. Any takers?
Philip Greenspun’s Blog Entry on Music CDs states it more eloquent and completely.
