Question Art

Yesterday I saw the Question exhibit at Stanford’s Cantor Arts Center. The exhibit is an interactive and engaging display with the purpose to encourage the viewers into questioning art.
What is artistic quality? Why look at something disturbing? Can people understand art from different culture or periods? Is there such thing as bad art?
The viewers take part in the exhibit in several ways; there are blank walls which can be drawn or written on. There are guest books around which asks questions which the visitors can write their answers. Their answers becoming part of the exhibit itself.
A thought provoking exhibit which seems to prod and probe the meaning of art in society. How people interact with and why do they view or create art? Questions which should be asked.
If you are in the area, the exhibit is open until January 2nd plus it’s free admission. More information available at http://ccva.stanford.edu/
