Spot Bleaching Effects - removes silver from print (and film)
- On print, used to lighten a small spot area of a print
- On negative, used to remove silver lightening negative producing a darker print.
- Can also be used on full print.
Mixing Chemical
- Add 2.5 oz of water
- Add 1/4 teaspoon potassium ferricynanide
- Add 1.5 oz of water
Note: mix in order to avoid splash or chemical dust
Bleaching Print
- Pre-soak print(s) in fix for about two minutes, rotating so thoroughly wet.
- Place print in dry tray with good light
- Use q-tip or brush to apply bleach (5 secs)
- Apply fix, with different q-tip or brush, to stop bleaching
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 as necessary to achieve desired effect
- After bleaching fix print for about two minutes
- Wash print normally.
Cleaning Up
Save mixed bleach, if possible.
Pour down drain and flush with plenty of water. (from Kodak)
DANGER: DO NOT LET BLEACH MIX WITH STOP BATH
** CYNANIDE GAS CAN BE FORMED **
