Each year Half Moon Bay has one of the largest pumpkin festivals in California, started back in 1971 as part of a city beautification project to help revitalize a crumbling downtown.

Here are a set of shots, about a month or so after the festival, plenty of pumpkins still litter the farmland. They'll eventually decay and provide good compost back to the soil.
